Honestly I do worry what texting is doing to our language skills.
Actually, I watched an interesting TED on this! It’s not ruining our language, it’s more along the lines changing and evolving, creating actual new language.
Don’t think of texting like how you read a book, think of it as texting how you speak.
People use monikers such as lol, smiley faces, etc. to the convey emotions and sort of attitude that the text is supposed to make due to the lack of body language we can show through texting.
